5 Tips to remember while frying Oreos at home

  • Always freeze the pack of Oreos.

  • Frying them at the right temperature will give you an awesome taste that even your friends would love to try.

  • Don't over fry them, they're done when the colour just changes to brownish colour and starts shrinking a bit.(Don't mind the artificial shade used here).

  • Always keep them warm for some time before serving so that it can stay soft even if it's cold outside or after it cools down completely because of the flavourings added during the frying process!! (A deep-fried Oreo is always better when served warm)

  • And lastly but not least, use oil with high smoking points like peanut oil or vegetable oil . These are the tips that helped me to make really good deep fried Oreos at home.

Other Tips For Deep-Fried Twinkies

  • While frying Twinkies at home, it’s very important to use the right amount of oil. Using too much oil makes your deep-fried Twinkies soggy while using too little results in a crispy shell with a dry inside. So what is the perfect amount of oil you ask ? Well here are some easy tricks to remember.

  • Deep fry twice or thrice if unsure about the quantity of oil required.

  • Never expect more than 7-8 cakes to get fried at once, any more guarantees disappointment.

  • Before starting on the recipe , check & recheck that there are no smoke alarms around especially near the kitchen. Just in case be ready with a plan to get out of there or render it immaterial by wearing all the flammable clothes you got.

  • The quality of the Twinkie is directly proportional to the length of time you fry it for. Done well, a fresh Twinkie can blow your mind away. But even with neglect, it's not too bad either. Remember, there are no bad Twinkies. There are only bad chefs who don't know how to work with them! Be careful though, older ones tend to stick to the frying pan and that makes cleanup very difficult indeed.

  • Don't try hiding an old Twinkie by dipping it in some oil first -- it'll taste horrible! Just throw out anything over 2 days old and get new ones.

The Summary

The delicious taste of deep-fried Oreos marries perfectly with a tall glass of milk - so what could possibly be better? And, How about deep-fried Twinkies covered in chocolate and served over ice cream. Yes, please!
