Make Instant Cheesy Deep-Fried Oreos and Twinkies At Home

Crumbs Carnival Treats

Anyone who's ever had the chance to try deep fried Oreos in America knows that this not-so-healthy dish can be excessively greasy and sickly sweet. And yet both recipes are often used for fundraising charity carnivals, fairs, or bake sales. The reason isn't quite clear - certainly no nutritional value nor reasonable price for a product so simple. But there must be something behind it. One option would be American food faddism. Another might be simply curiosity - "Let's try it." But most likely, deep fried Oreos are simply the result of Americans' love for them.

Golden-fried mozzarella sticks are even better when you fill them with cream cheese before they're deep-fried. These crispy deep fried Twinkies and Oreos are almost like the ultimate grilled cheese sandwiches—with fried crunchy outsides and gooey cheesy insides (and all-American junk food).

But these aren't your ordinary cheese sticks; get ready to make some magical treats that will blow your mind! Not only will you learn how to make them, but also how to make an awesome dipping sauce for the sticks themselves—which makes the whole package taste like heaven on earth.

Deep fried Oreos and Twinkies in cheese dip

That's it! You don't need to add any bread or batter, because you're already eating something deep-fried. (Duh.) But if you want an extra crunchy coating like the one in this photo, make some crispy little balls out of flour, milk, butter, salt, and pepper, then deep fry them with your sugary treats. You'll end up with cheesy crunchies that are way better than anything. The fried goodness of Oreo Double Stuf Cheese Dip with Twinkie Bites. Yum!!!

Instructions:

1. Inject them with molten cheese. Fill a syringe (or a pastry bag, or a Ziploc bag) with the filling of your choice and inject it into one end of an Oreo or Twinkie until you feel resistance. Repeat this step for the other two ends, then deep-fry these bad boys until they're golden brown on both sides. While that's happening, make the dipping sauce by melting some cream cheese in the microwave.

2. Dip them into melted cheese! Stick these little guys in the oven at 450°F for about 30 seconds until the cheese has melted. The best way to dip these? Straight into a bowl of powdered sugar so it sticks.

What are the best siders for deep-fried Oreos & Twinkies?

Cake, glazed donut, chocolate-coated biscuit, or cinnamon sugar?

Oreos are one of America's favorite cookies. They're also the centerpiece of one of America's favorite desserts: deep-fried Oreos, topped with powdered sugar and served warm, oozing with hot melted chocolate or drenched in caramel sauce. Their popularity has spread far beyond our borders to Canada, Mexico, Thailand, Korea, Japan -- even Italy! Everyone likes warm, freshly deep fried Oreos. But what should you dip them in? What's the best way to eat them? And - perhaps most importantly - how do you make deep fried Twinkies and Oreos even better? We've got answers.

The world is divided on this pressing question. We've found that most people fall into one of two camps: those who like their Oreos dunked in cake batter and fried until crispy and those who prefer a sweeter coating —think glaze, chocolate, or sprinkles. And we're not just talking about the non-fancy grocery store versions—we're talking about any flavor of Oreo you can find at your local convenience stores, gas stations, and supermarkets. They might be slightly different from grocery to grocery but they all exist! So which do you choose? A recent poll revealed that cake batter-dipped Oreos are people's preferred side for deep-fried Oreos, with donuts coming in a close second.
